busy month of March

a big month.  busy.
Luna is my running partner.  here under a nice full moon.
I rode to work and back for the first time in several years. was amazing.
highs and lows that day.  got rear ended...
R totally stepped up and helped E with a pinewood derby car.

thank you to B for this awesome Christmas gift card to the nursery. I got a lovely boxleaf azara I've been wanting.
 R's favorite moisture festival.

I helped add weights.  unfortunately, my idea of using hair dryer to dry the glue faster actually made it runny again.  we resorted to tape.

his home made car came in 3rd, and his new car built that night came in 2nd.  he had a great time!

Family Jewels 5k - my time was 36.59. :) 3rd place for my age/gender. 11:55 min/m

Rasar cabin camping

Rob rode the Chilly Hilly again!  he's rocking his STP training.

E submitted an entry for the yearbook cover contest. "the landscape around us".  turned the letters into mountains, water, buildings, and trees. and the pink ones were just normal.  love his creativity.

Months ago, before we ended up having a snowy winter, we booked a cabin at Rasar State Park, thinking we would want a winter weekend away.  turns out we had more than our fill of snow, and fortunately, the cabin weekend was lovely and relaxing and not too snowy.

this tree has a hole through the roots, if you zoom in you can see E on the other side.

i found trails for running and R found long roads for riding.
the dog had big snow fields for play.

E built a little fairy house with soft padding. in appreciation for the beauty and the bird named Fern.
we drove up to Baker Lake while R was riding.
 here is the dam.
the white "cloud" rising up behind us is Mt. Baker glacier.
we leapfrogged R on his final miles back to the cabin. (40 sat and 40 sun.)

we love ski Utah

I was nervous about the roads and low temperatures. 6 degrees!  we bundled up and all wore ninja masks balaclavas.  Mom skied with us on day 1. we had a beautiful day at Alta.  no lines and fantastic snow.  we were so happy every time the sun peaked thru.
E rocked it.  really improved his technique.  i finally calmed down as he got more confident and strong.

no question. It was cold.

Day 2, We skied with Grandpa, Grandma, and A and A at Sundance. another great day there, letting her lead the way.  even followed her to a mondo pile of nachos at the top.
throwing icicles off the cliff. obviously i stayed my distance.

happy birthday to cousin J!  we loved being there to celebrate.  group swimming photo to come. (i think e enjoyed swimming even more than skiing because all the cousins were there)

and Friday was a gorgeous afternoon at Brighton with Grandma, Grandpa, and M.

we exemplified crazy Americans, going out for malts after a day of skiing.  Iceberg is one of Grandpa's favorite spots.
short visit to see Great Grandmother and Aunt L, and J also was home.  E was a champ to play for them again.

earthquake! i felt it; the shaking woke me up.  The 3.1 magnitude earthquake was the 106th to shake the area in the past 10 days.  wow.

so fun to see U of U women's gymnastics rock the floor against UCLA.  it was so motivating and energizing and e loved it.  thanks Grandpa for that outing!
remember next time about lots of traffic when leaving college stadium events, especially if you're in a rush to get to airport.
