Independence Day 2018

A and T were game to join the kids dash with a moment's notice.
many of us ran a 7am 5k.  fun!  my sugar addiction persists, so i ate the donut afterwards.  J&C did not.

 we got a cheering squad.

B and puppy J
cute J. we all tried to help with cabin projects.  A is the toughest of us, as she was willing to climb down into the window well to pull out the dead animals.  then she promptly fixed the wood/screen covering to prevent further problems.

Grandma prepared, directed, and pulled off another fantastic skit.  Nephi and his brothers returning to Jerusalem to get the brass plates.  E was thrilled to play Zoram.

Uncle E presented the recent Kenya trip.  So cool to see photos, and hear from all those who were there.  thanks for putting it together! and thanks to Aunt C for spearheading the trip.

Uncle E was also great because he took E with M to shoot BB guns.  E hit the target, making two marks on this soda bottle.  I wouldn't let him bring the bottle back to Seattle, but we took a picture.
Grandpa's work hangs at the cabin and home. so nice.

love vacation Tuesday

mom came out with me on a training run.  I was energized by her company, so we did a long run, my personal record to that time, almost 6 miles.  shouldn't have started her out with that length though.  after the 5k the next day, she was limping.  have to train up to long runs.
beautiful Wasatch mountains are still green.

the new Ranger was a hit.
check out J's cute hair!
Dad and I took a trip to home depot for bench supplies.  i was nervous about these cinder blocks sliding off on the long drive back, but he was right... they were quite stable.

Monday. UT vacation.

a note to Daddy- here is the next version of pancake E would like for sunday morning breakfast.
yum!  we got to take Grandpa to breakfast for a belated father's day outing.  I love this kind of gift best where we are spending time together.  R would have loved the cherry crepes Grandpa shared with e.  we missed R on this trip.
urban farming is something my baby sister pulls off amazingly well.

smart ones. installing lots of solar panels.  well done.

Grandma put together a play for the boys. she wrote the script and sewed costumes, then directed it for all.  see cabin post forthcoming.  E loved that he got to act, and we, the audience loved the entire production. thank you Mom.

Baby blessing day

C blessed her new baby while we were all in town.  sweet new baby M.
we had a lovely family lunch afterwards.

Mom's delicious vegan wraps
Basil pesto or hummus or refried beans base layer.
Brown rice cooked
Purple onions
Cooked sweet potato slices
Red pepper and yellow.
Sprouts, broccoli not alfalfa
No liquid tomatoes, make soggy.

Put out salsa for topping.
found boys of all ages in an upstairs room surrounded by legos.
the C family is very musical and we even had Uncle J improvise on the clarinet. loved this program.
had a visit with Great Grandmother and Aunt L. both are still charming.  they made sure we passed on the msg that they were missing our husband/dad.  he is wonderful and they love him and they don't have many years left, so please come visit soon.
here begins my attempts to remember the beautiful mountains that I grew up with.
cousin D left some papers, so we got in a trip to Temple Square to meet her and return her papers.
