Pumpkin Palooza

family night at the y. we decorated pumpkins and cookies.
even though it's an indoor pool, it has a metal roof, so swimming was threatened by the lightening outside, but fortunately, the storms cooled off and the pool opened.

nice to be remembered by Aunt L.

Poetry

E's note for us for Curriculum Night.
His poems.
i love the slow wise turtle.
love the flee being the only thing he could really really see, mole angrily clicking a link, and meeting a man named Paul. :)
counting calories with a friend. using a fun app called See how you eat.

more Ranch

R shared his photos from the weekend.
R and E went out for some night shots.

Flying Horseshoe Ranch

me. again. need to work on improving me in these selfies.
lunchtime walks with nice friends. loving the trees changing color along the golf course.
On Tuesdays, we go to Math Buddies at the library. it's an hour of playing games with high school student volunteers.  This year, we were thrilled to find our friend N got involved.

Primary activity to the temple, here constructing temples out of toothpicks and marshmallows.

love my friend who gets me out for weekend runs.  view of Rainier from Seward Park was awesome, though of course this photo doesn't do it justice.
Flying Horseshoe Ranch with our violin studio friends.
we have a great teacher, who comes up with lots of fun ways to get the kids playing and keep it interesting.

Red Dragons

One of the nice dads from soccer is a professional photographer.  He shared these great shots.

Fort Flagler with other friends

E is coding games using Scratch.
i have an awesome view of the golf course from my office.
A second weekend trip, this time women only, to Ft. Flagler.  We walked out on the spit first thing.  It wasn't as windy this time and we lucked out again with no rain. a beautiful way to end the summer camping season.

 lots of deer around.
walking before dinner was great, but again meant we prepared food in the dark.  delishious little potluck. Ms. C's vegetable marinara, fresh pasta, salad.
Ms. E rocked the menu with her dutch over.  she baked a fresh nectarine/yellow cake mix/butter cake for dessert and then cinnamon rolls for breakfast. So amazing to have hot baked food on a camping trip.

on the way home, we stopped by the Japanese Internment memorial on Bainbridge Island.  I'm glad we did. it was so interesting.
here: The Japanese Americans endured with gaman, the practice of bearing difficult times with patience and dignity.  They were sent to California, then Idaho for 3+ years.
