odds and summer ends

R is inspired by and learning from the Great British Baking Show.  He made apple turnovers with our harvested apples.
We loved our sweet plums, ripe once the figs were gone.  grapes are next; they've changed to a purple color.

e and I watched nature on our front lawn: a Cooper's Common Hawk.  i saw the bird of prey coming in low by my window out the the corner of my eye.  He must have brought the gull from the beach area.  we watched him eat until he flew away, taking the body with him.  didn't let the dog out though she rang the bell several times.

we make frequent trips to our library.

e's last week of summer camp: they put on a play.  he was the chef.
made salt dough for my primary class. the kids made farm animals
dinner with the J family.  she brought a delish kale salad. r loves cranberries + feta.
our tomatoes are climbing high with the grapes.
