it's here! (spring)

i never thought i would care about planting flowers, but we have had a beautiful spring with lots of inspiration.  we removed a huge juniper (for better or worse yet to be decided) from the rockery, so i've been on a mission to replant that area and prevent erosion.  we moved a lot of the dirt to other areas of the yard.  the soil is mainly a lot of sand underneath mulch.  i've added steer-gro and chicken manure also. i've taken photos of beautiful plants from neighbors' yards and planted the same things hoping our garden will look lovely in a year or two.

this self arrest training was a super fun bday weekend treat for me.  a day in the mountains with climbing friends and my husband too.  C's instructions were to throw ourselves down a black diamond ski run - on our back- head first- and don't try to stop until we were scared....  :)
i do feel more comfortable with an ice ax now.
e enjoyed the day with our S. friends.

oh, Little League.  we've enjoyed the season, but what a major time commitment.  2-3 nights each week.  We were fortunate to get on a a good team with a very patient coach.

I was invited to join others with April birthdays - the April babes group- from church for their annual dinner and gift exchange. nice to meet some new friends.
