goal: savory should exceed sweet

ongoing food - every day we've got to make and eat.  I discovered carmelitas. next is yummy clafloutis.  last is healthy attempt roasted kale and delicata pizza.  i'm trying to find savory healthier things to cook instead of sweet baked things.

next topic is projects:

having cake

E's square-bot in his classroom.

when you don't have family close by, c's house is a great place to go for second best to family love and chillin' on a sat night.

we didn't even come close to finishing this cake.

Halloween

Wed night ward Trunk or Treat

next year I'll be a little more festive with my trunk decorating.

Both are made up as zombies for the school's Thriller dance

E's own decorations are behind them.

he and L went around the block with Dad and filled up those pumpkins.

good peeps & stitches

in the corn maze with friends

celebrating a 2 year old's birthday

sweet little simple stitch.  i don't branch out too much, but this one i can do :)  the mom made all these i presume, simple little bags for bday favors.  gave with quarters for playing arcade games at the ice cream store - and stickers.

y nights

we are really enjoying the YMCA gym.  childcare is wonderful. e loves going and i love the classes.  especially zumba. yay!
they also have some family night activities.  here are two on successive friday nights.
handpainting and inflatable races with dad.

this one was spooky science night.  the water bottle had vinegar, then we dumped the baking soda in and the balloon filled up with the gas.  e liked these activities.

this table had alka seltzer exploding film canisters.  E's canister went so high, almost to the basketball hoop.

creating his own spider web, and adding a little pipe cleaner spider.

Oxbow farm

I took some of these, but Ms. E took the good ones!  we had a lovely afternoon (though rainy) exploring Oxbow Farm.

i recognize that my life revolves a lot around food. i'm okay with that.  it's important to think about how one eats.  especially if one is a mom and trying to feed a family.  anyway, these were BIG beets!

all good things

We watched conference and mended.  e sewed a blanket for his stuffy jolene! i was super impressed with his concentration and excitement about project.

ah, sweet thoughtful dandelion bouquets.

i signed up for my first 5k as an adult, so i've been jogging during E's soccer practice, as well as trying to go to gym 4x/week.  imporant to be hang with good people so you can be influenced by them  (thanks bro in law E and friend C)

we tried a kale/brussel sprout salad.  was good, but that was certainly helped by the cup of parmesan.

R's yummy pork chop and veg dinner.

another friend influence... trying out kabucha squash.  i'm trying to love squash.  will put delicata on pizza this week.
