Ski Truck and Leonardo

We love the ski truck, which is actually a huge warehouse.  Dad's friend was good to us; got us outfitted with used skis at a great price.  fun morning.

one of Dad's favorite paintings, by Al Rounds.
E's Christmas present from Grandpa was an outing of his choice.  We enjoyed several hours exploring the Leonardo science and art museum.
the green screen made us invisible if we held green in front of us.
wind tunnel shoots his paper helicopter up into the sky.
the tubes caused him to hear the voices coming from the opposite sides :)

New Years Day

photo shoot for Grandpa's New Year, New House card.

Mary Poppins returns, was practically perfect in every way.  fun with cousins and reclining seats.
We checked in on Uncle F at the cemetery.

Going out to dinner for our Christmas present to Grandpa.  Followed that up with sundaes, both strawberry and caramel, and a chocolate malt for me.

New Years Eve

Mr. Ice: they fixed his hat so it was better attached, not blowing away in the wind.
 i love organized garages.
these animal footprints were in A's driveway.
burrito bar at R&B's New Year's Eve family dance party.
in the back, they had games set up and also folks finishing up the Book of Mormon by years' end challenge. :)

i got out there for some line dancing.
baby M loved the music.  Grandma was still nursing a cracked rib, but M is so lightweight.

Extended family

We practiced violin nearly every day, taking advantage of new audiences :)  here, E played for Great Grandmother and Aunt L.

Here, E played for Uncle D and Uncle J.  This was also Grandma's first sit down dinner with guests in her new dining room.  the way it happened was impressive. We had intended to go visit Great Grandmother after just coming home from something, but found out that Uncles were coming to visit.  Mom was in full on H mode.  We visited, showed them around the new condo, and then she was setting the table, and pulled out dinner.  she even found vegan cookies and grandpa's ice cream for dessert.  very much a hostess move her mom pulled regularly.

Utah snow made me proud this year.  snowing so much when R left, his flight was delayed.  When E and I left a week later, fortunately, we made it out an hour before the UT snow and arrived home hours after the WA wind storm.
so many relatives that we love.  i didn't do a very good job. didn't get a photo of my two lovely aunts. especially thanks to Aunt R for throwing this BIG and BEAUTIFUL dinner.  💖 lots of snow coming down this night, but folks still drove from far away.

seriously.  every table had a cute centerpiece.

marshmallow world on the South Fork

R made 3 batches of bread at the cabin

 sometimes this happens. twinner tops.
those braver than me went sledding.  i heard that A&D went out for a 10pm hike to find good ski spots.
R supplies the games. E brings the competitive spirit. he's wrapped in a blanket because it was cold!  in the teens.  and because he's a thin guy training for 50 milers.
A is always taking care of everyone else, making sure they have a good time.
 updos!
My sister C is one busy woman with some sweet kids to show for it.

Brighton

E and I skied the bunny hill.  Grandpa showed R a bunch of other runs.  the resort was packed and the lines were long!  but we had fun.
We went to the Hale Center Theater afterwards with Grandma for The Wizard of Oz, which was wonderful, and not scary. (phew. always hated those evil flying monkeys).

holiday joy

Aunt A hooked us up with skiis, boots, helmet, even a ninja mask.  she taught E how to squish lemons or spiders with his shins, so that he is always balanced, and not leaning back.  thank you!

Grandma issued a challenge to all to memorize The Living Christ, and T was the first to pass it off. impressive.

R hosted us next. What a lovely home.

 cute cookie decorating idea!

My grandma used to live in this historic house across from Temple Square
