another winner cub scout recipe: banana boat.
 family photos via skype

fall is baking, conference, leaves, and soccer

R took E to find the next size violin.  Teacher T said he needed to try several different instruments, playing Andantino until he found the one that sounded and felt the best to him.

 his proper bow hold
R's baking glory continues. love baguettes.
sewing projects during conference.  he made a bag (this is the one he's working on in these pics. i even added handles), a bean bag (he filled it with kidney beans), and a pillow (we stuffed it with stuffing from Rob's old worn out pillow).  his hand stitches are really improving - neater and tighter, and he also helped work the sewing machine.  fortunately we had some fabric in the closet that he chose awhile ago when we were thinking about a quilt for him.
veggie burgers with picked red onions. and guac.

lunchtime walks. beautiful trees line Beacon Ave.

M&M, his cucumber plant, which he cared for all summer, yielded one delicious cuc. he was so kind to share it with us.
cub scout homework: making recipes, here is gumbo. and r's fresh bread.
 dinner party with work friends.

el's awesome salad: 1/2 red cabbage, 1/2 green cabbage (shred everything in the food processor). apple, cranberries, carrot, parsley.  Dressing is evoo and lemon juice, salt and pepper. Top with toasted pepitas.

wrapping up the harvest

a friend gifted us delicata from her garden. e and I loved it with brown sugar on half and salt and pepper on the other half.
a friend taught me a mohawk braid. it's a good one for me.
E drew a map of Grandma and Grandpa's cabin, including the dead deer.
finished the other half of the garage. so nice to have that project complete. R organized everything, including hanging the bicycles, and it's a pleasant space now.

we had a more abundant harvest this year. they were sweeter, since we trimmed the leaves to let the shine shine on them.
his vision was borderline, having to sit at the front of the classroom and not being able to see the pictures in my CTR7 lesson, so we got him glasses.
we planted 3 madrona's (don't tell the neighbors they get tall) as well as more groundcover in the rockery
out on a jog, i see at least 5 different sea vessels.

2 yrs ago we made granola with a little O.  now he's got a baby brother.  love the J family.  our granola turned out great again.

R participated in a Distinguished Gentlemen's ride, benefiting charity.

E rocked Etude by Suzuki at the fall recital.
