up to date in prep for blurb writing

my handsome guy going to church with me. yay for a sunshiny day.

r and E headed up to the slopes for the first time.  E says it was a "hundred thousand fun".

:) a nice thing that family cares for us.

we're learning to swim.

an urban hike i've been wanting to do for a long time.  to Solstice park for a great view.

e's learning to take the selfie.

R made a good dinner with leftover roast.  the mash was garlicky and a little more healthy due to the carrots mixed with potatoes.

We had a day off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We went to the NW African American Museum for the first time.  everyone else was there also.  but we enjoyed a storytelling and exhibits. yay for another sunny day in our moderate weather town.

put down some straw to compost in our garden.

e's still enjoying the gym becuase they have crafts at their childcare.  the teacher tells me he comes in and says "what's the craft  tonight? oh, and hi."

waiting at bus stop for E.

family fun night was lego building creations.

fun afternoon to go and see the UW women's basketball team win a close game against our in state rivals Washington State.  I like to sit close to the band, trying to influence E to think woodwinds and brass are cool.  but he still thinks he wants to play violin.

breaking open the geode to see the shiny rock inside.

checking out the inside with the magnification on the TV

I am reading the Compound Effect book.  it's very encouraging that every little small thing has big consequences.  so, i keep working on taking small steps toward greatness and increased health.  here is chia pudding with banana and mashed fruit.

then E and i had an ER adventure.  We just had to take our new insurance health coverage for a test drive.  I thought we were doing ok with eating enough fruits, veg, fiber, and water, but ... we weren't.  we have changed our ways.

another gym family fun night.  here e is working on getting that oreo on his forehead down into his mouth.

this activity is called "giant dominoes".  how funny to see those VHS tapes put to use.

racquetball!

sosij (sausage) for shower

some of the great spelling e is working out in his head.  here are jenz!  (jeans)

here it says "iT IS A BYODEFl DEAY".  (it is a beautiful day). then he drew of picture of the sun, clouds, grass, and a flower.

Mom I Lav you. Dad I lav you. :)

idea for next year Christmas gifts:  an ornament like this. i could make this!  yarn wrapped around a letter, with cute little cotton puffs and tiny bells randomly around.

i love that R works on food and cooking right now.  he totally is more active in the kitchen!  he makes pancakes pretty regularly for weekend breakfast.  here is was preparing food for a baby shower and he offered to make the sausage and bacon, while i made a breakfast cake and claflautis.

they both stepped up and helped make these food labels, and decoration pictures with our baby boy shower theme (water, sailboat, anchors, fish).  they were so great.  it was a warm fuzzy Friday night.

thanks to Jonn for giving the OK to rescue bots.  :)  they were both glad to veg out to an episode after all the shower prep.

these are some of my church friends.  I am grateful for them. my life is better because of them.  it was fun to help host this shower for Ms. A.  very excited for her and C to have a little.  they will be great parents.

my waist was thinner back when i bike commuted every day.  now we have to make lots of effort to get to the gym for fitness classes. here we were on our way for an afternoon of family swimming.

so far, still hopping

looking forward to a fun rainy day activity!  we are so excited to sew a little puppy dog. will be FUN.

we haven't slowed down from the holidays yet.  took a quick trip to ikea with the rest of Seattle.   that place is always so crowded. but fun.  we were wishing we could live in 500 square feet, like they've got layed out here.

we love all things bread.  these pretzels were fun to make and eat.

catching up with our lovely friends A & J.   so nice of them to drive down for an afternoon visit.

fresh flowers were beautiful!  we appreciated for many days.

Nana sent this advent calendar for Christmas.  E enjoyed putting on one sticker every day.

yum for hummus, veg, and crackers and cheese.

Ms. C hosted a small fun post holidays dinner. Ms. J shared a super healthy carrot ginger soup.

we have afternoon church now, so we get to have some family time in the morning.  trying to get out for some walks when the weather is good. (thanks Uncle D for that sunday walking inspiration).

gingerbread house is one of his holiday themed lego projects. other things revealed in this pic:  love that sewing machine!  thanks mom for teaching me how to sew.  love Dave Ramsey!  we are going to teach our jr. how to win with money!
