more decorating

our lovely friend invited us over to make Halloween decorated houses with her family.  the idea came from here: http://www.melskitchencafe.com/gingerbread-houses/

we had so much fun!

pumpkins and pandemic

we hosted a pumpkin decorating party and brunch for the primary kids.  i think everyone had a fun time.

2 women always go above and beyond with the sandwiches they bring.  these pumpkin shaped ham and cheese sandwiches were so cute.

we played pandemic with work friends inspired by the recent ebola outbreak.

Fall has arrived

R successfully made the greatest choc chip cookies we've ever produced.  cousin D's recipe.

an wonderful and very generous friend gave us fresh produce and also some of the sausage from the pig they just butchered.

lovely flower shop ladies shared another Hawaiian flower with us.

Green River Trail

 

Our first time on the Green river trail. So lovely.  7.1 miles each way to a great little brunch spot in Kent.  We will do this one again for sure.  The winding trail follows the river with no elevation.  My new goal to do the whole green river trail and interurban loop - and then perhaps the whole thing starting from our house?

A very talented Sister K made this Wind in the Willows quilt.  won 3 ribbons.  a gift for her new grandson.
