so many things

can i remember them all... last night rob thinks he saw Ely take a step on his own. i may have seen it also tonight. at dinner he tried to put a green bean on his spoon, and then mashed the banana into the spoon and, though upside down, tried to get it to his mouth. then he tried to put the spaghetti noodles on the spoon. what can i give him that he can eat with a spoon? nana suggested baked potato. may try this weekend. at bedtime he read a book with me and then part of another one. oh, i knew there was another thing. i had icecream (peanut butter) after dinner and gave him a taste and he kept coming back for more tastes, probably 10 (tiny) bites. first time for all of these things!

summer day

he's drinking through a straw well now, so i bought 100 of them at Target for a dollar. and i took out the blanket for him to sit on and he crawled off. through the grass. over to jolene and to the driveway and all around. he's just comfortable now. when we first tried to sit him on the blanket outside he would cry. nice change:)

it was our neighbor Lauren's fourth birthday party. lots of fun!

new accomplishments

Bob loves his spice shops at the market.

Bob and John at the Gum Wall.

Adrianna Ely loved Native American artwork and jewerly.

Gina trying on an antique ocam ring.

Ely is learning how to clap. he can put his hands together, but its a bit like the sign language for "more" instead of clapping.

He ate 5 quarters of strawberry this morning. first time he's been introduced to strawberry. about the 10th time he's been introduced to beans and cottage cheese, but he won't eat those.

He is learning how to drink out of a straw. thanks to Nana for helping teach this skill.

He can open the bottom kitchen drawer where his bibs and food are kept. he can take the lid of the plastic container and tries to open up the sealed food.

the other day after dinner he was playing at the door and saying Dada DaDa. Gina suggested that he knows it was time for his Daddy to come home. and within 5 minutes, Rob did arrive.
He also may be transitioning from two naps to one. every day is a little different.
