welcome summer

E and C's first night at scouts.
Our last dinner at Donna's.  G&D from Camano. A&C from U district and N.

she's patient, and always wanting to help E be happy. playing games with him.
E performed Suzuki's Andantino at the June recital.
this last week of school is pretty relaxed.  this was a fun sumo wrestler game at the Razzle Dazzle carnival.
I asked him to get something small, but he chose a full face lion face painting.

we've been helping Donna move :(  sad to see her go. she's been a open, loving, and welcoming cousin.
this recipe from my lose to win group: baked potato topped with sauerkraut, salsa, and veganaise. pretty decent.

R's amazing climbs

Mt. St Helens.
R took advantage of a friend offering a ticket to Mt. St Helens.  he did this climb solo and was fortunate to have great weather.  We are grateful for his safe return and good experience.

Mt Adams
R did this overnight with our "WS Alpine Climbing club" friends.  we were much more relaxed knowing that he was with experienced peers and leaders.  unfortunately, they did not have great weather on the 2nd day, and turned back once the ice ax's started humming, and they realized they were in a lightening cloud.
everyone had so many good photos, i've only picked a few.

even some of the most amazing climbers felt sick from the altitude.

they were above cloud level.
woke up at 2am for the push to summit. found themselves in a snowstorm with strong winds. very limited visibility.

glissade down where eventually there were clear skies.

The magic box
Inside of my box is as yellow as the morning sun.
My box is as big as the mouth of a chipmunk.
My box hides the memory of my dog droping her hard bones down the nice wodden stairs.
My box sounds like the crashing waves of the beach. Going forever and ever.
It’s outside is velvet and red.
Inside is the love of my family.
I shall fly on my box to the country of China.
My box holds the memories of old and new. It holds love and friendship.

Eating the Moon
Darkness runs from the corners of my mouth. There is no happiness like mine. I am eating the moon. The astronaut staring in horrer as the moon disipers into my mouth. His eyes are wide, then he faints. A birdy comes into view. I start to tweet and twitter. I fluter and flap in the brease.

5.22.18
A poem is imaginary land
A poem is a good calm story
A poem is beautiful bird
A poem is the sound of sadness crying and crying forever
A poem is the smell of peppermint
A poem is the taste of the tastiest chickin-leg
A poem is a joyful story to share with your friends.

Do not break the school and turn into an turbo car that can go on any surface unless a firebreathing monster that can go on any surface is chasing you and throwing firebomb’s at you. You should electricity turbo laser eyes and blast him so hard that he fizzes so hard that falls into a vortex of colors and re-apers 5,000,000,000,000, solar-systems away. Then he is a nerd.

E the racing king

Alki-A-Thon

It worked out that R could volunteer at the school's Alki-A-Thon fundraiser.  He spent many hours at the school setting up the field, filling water cups (he estimates about 2000 cups), and cheering on the kids.
