new place with a separate guest house..

continuing our lovely relaxing weekend, we visited friends in their new house on Bainbridge.  will add pics of the littles when I make the book, but not on internet.
windy ferry rides. reaching out for D.

Ms. S is an amazing hostess. suspect it all comes naturally for her.  scores big with letting the littles make their own pizzas.  for adults, she whips up an amazing simple green salad and chicken pesto sandwiches (cheese melted under the broiler for a minute).

chocolat

we had a lovely experience visiting our friend A's work.  so much more than i expected.  in her words: It's a beautiful room and there are tables to sit down at and it's pretty low key.  A nice oasis, really.  =)

A relaxing indulgent way to spend an hour on a Saturday morning.  We had a few samples, saw the factory production rooms (so clean! A says 1/3 of each shift is spent cleaning), and enjoyed drinking chocolate (oh, powder mix hot cocoa just isn't this good!).  We got to visit with friends while eating a few pieces of rich chocolate and caramel.  yum.  thank you to Ms. A. for inviting us.  the astronaut statue is part of a couple dozen art installations around the city.  i always like those.

bike sightings

salmon fishing open on the Duwamish as of Sept 1.  50 or more folks are side to side on the bridge. first pic is 6am. second is 10am.

commuting through Georgetown involves getting delayed once in awhile.

choose carefully

you become like the people you spend time with.  Choose carefully.

People inspire you, or they drain you - pick them wisely.

Let go of those who bring you down and surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you.

labor day camping

end of summer means one last camping trip.  We headed over to Bremerton to Illahee state park.  CL and N biked and ferried over to join us for lunch BLATs (bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwiches- new camping favorite) and a hike.

R made yummy blueberry pancakes over the fire.

ending of some things
